Situated in the suburb of Sandton, North of Johannesburg this 600 hectare estate is gifted with 180 species of bird and the 14 dams which irrigate the two championships courses are well stocked with a variety of fish.

Originally designed by the Hawtree family of golf architects based in England, both courses are have recently been refurbished which includes dramatic improvements to the Rocklands layout and subtle yet effective changes to the Woodmead course. The courses use kikuyu grass on the tees, fairways and semi-rough which offers a lush playing surface.

The greens are constructed to USGA specifications and are seeded with the hybrid grass L93 Bent on Woodmead and Pencross Bent on Rocklands.

Both courses complement each other and offer golfers the choice of two very different golfing experiences. The wealth of natural resources have been blended together creating a harmonious balance between nature and urban development surrounding the estate.

The magnificent golfing facilities include; a well-positioned driving range offering the use of every club available in the golf bag, a coaching academy, two practice putting greens, a chipping green and practice bunker. The club shop is well stocked with a wide variety of golfing accessories, shoes, clothing and clubs. The “Sandwedge” halfway house is well positioned between both courses and recognized as one of the finest facilities in the country.

The Country Club Johannesburg continues to strive as the market leader and continually improve on its service, facilities and golf course in the quest to offer the golfer the best golfing experience.
